Trademarks are valuable, important business assets. Like other intellectual property, trademarks require you take certain efforts in order to protect them. Do your part toward protecting our organization's trademarks by following these usage guidelines in all electronic and printed materials:
• Always use trademarks, registered and otherwise, as adjectives.
• Immediately follow the first use of each trademark with the appropriate symbol, designating its status as a trademark:
- Use the ® symbol only for registered trademarks and service marks.
- Use the ™ for unregistered trademarks.
- Use the SM symbol for unregistered service marks.
• If the first use of a mark appears in a heading, repeat the use of its symbol after its first use in content text.
• Format the trademark term as required (see table below). Some marks require specific use of capital letters or subscript, superscript, or
other special formatting elements.
• Include an appropriate trademark legend at the end of each document. For each sentence of this paragraph:
- List only the marks for a single owner in each sentence.
- List only the marks that appear in the specific document.
- Specify which marks are registered trademarks and which are only trademarks.
- Always begin the trademark notice paragraph with the sentence addressing marks owned by NetStreams LLC.
- Use notice wording that has been approved by legal representation. Approved notice wording includes:
NetStreams and (enter product name) is a trademark of NetStreams L.L.C. (List any and all trademarked products listed in this document) All other trademarks are for reference purposes only and are the property of their respective owners.
Failure to follow the above guidelines dilutes the strength of these important business assets and can put the organization at risk of losing ownership.
